Motocross Championships

There are many motocross championships in the world today, and many professional riders compete in them. The main motcross championships in the world are 'FIM Motocross World Championship', 'AMA Motocross Championship' and 'Motocross des Nations'.

The Motocross World Championship is held in Europe with some rounds recently held in Chile, South Africa and Japan. In the past the Motocross World Chapionship has been held in many different countries such as Indonesia, Australia and countries on both American continents. There are three classes, MX1, MX2 and MX3. MX1 class consists of up to 250cc 2 stroke and up to 450cc 4 stroke. Mx2 class consists of up to 125cc 2 Stroke and up to 250cc 4 stroke. Mx3 consists of up to 500cc 2 stroke and up to 650cc 4 stroke.

The outdoor series of the AMA Motocross Championship season begins in early May and continues until mid-September. There is twelve rounds at twelve tracks situated all the continent of the United States of America. Each round has two races of thirty minutes plus two laps. The twelve tracks are:





-Hangtown Motocross



-Freestone Motocross



-High Point Motocross



-Budds Creek Motocross



-Thunder Valley Motocross



-Red Bud Motocross



-Spring Creek Motocross



-Washougal Motocross



-Unadilla Valley Motocross



-Southwick Motocross

The Motocross of Nations is held at the end of the year when National and World Championships have finished. The teams consist of three riders representing their countries. Each rider competes in a different class, either MX1, MX2 or "Open". There are three races with two classes competeing per moto. The United States of America, Belgium and Great Britain have had the greatest success.
